I have a dream - about old age urinals
Some old age pensioners gather in old age homes with a nurse to help, and
some green garden space
In the corner of this area could be a toilet with nature , shielded with
bamboo or vegetation.
Over the entrance is a lamp that goes on red when the space is occupied.
When it is free, you walk in and choose the facility you like, say
oldfashioned flush toilet or a hole in the ground over which you stand with
slightly spread legs and open cloths and possible bent knees. It may have
flush/suction, preventing smell, depending on how warm the weather is.
Old people need to move around and even in cold winter a trip to an outdoor
urinal may give your life much needed variation. Advantages of the simple
new facilities are no urine landing on your clothes and the general idea of
selfdetermination in stead of streamlined uniformity.
Using small plastic containers in your bed, when you feel bladder
pressure, but don't feel like walking to toilet, is major aspect of the
innovation.
These facilities are extremely unexpensive, and therefore the present system
is easily maintained as an alternative option.
The problem is that new things get popular, when a respected group find
them sexy/prestigious and then the majority copy the elite later on. That
may be impossible to arrange in this case - but in privatised systems pilot
studies may be tried out individually - as I do. People laughing at me don't
bother me - the smell in my home is not worsened by my present eksperiments.
All experts claim that ozone removes all smell - but it did not in my home ,
and therefore I guess some harmless fungus in the wood in my house - or in
my things - is causing the (fairly harmless) smell.
In Japan it is popular with electronic flush toilets that has automatic
cleaning of your crotch using a robot arm. My urine incontinence would not
match this system, since loose tissue around the urine pipe in the penis
means slow leakage long time after most of the bladder has been emtied.
I have an alternative dream of people stopping their inhibitions against
urinating with other people present. This is possible without any nakedness
or other exposing of genitals. A small plastic container is put to the
crotch by hand , and when you are finished, you place it at a place where
it is emptied, say automatically by a suction pipe system. About shit,
things are slightly more difficult, but attractive systems are not
impossible - I have developed several, and I believe that with an open mind,
anybody may select a system that is convenient for him/her. Modern
tecknology can make any system odourless and easy and inexpensive, when the
market is big enough.
Diapers are hell and lots of resources are spent on urine and shit removal
in old age homes, and therefore may suggestions may be advantageous,
economically too.

Urine incontinence is a widespread disease and the old age pensionists, are
especially hit,
They often have among their problems, that they need walking to toilet many
times in the middle of the night.
I have suggested in Journal of Danish Medicine 2004 , October 20 that a
small container is kept near the bed, since many die because of falling,
while going to toilet in the dark

More and more pensioners enjoy spending all day in their garden while the
weather is warm , and they should consider wearing a bottomless "kilt" ,
apron or the like , thus being able to urinate standing with spread legs
and not taking off any clothes and having no risk of wetting cloths by "last
drops".
Research is needed about where in a garden, you can urinate without risk of
anybody passing the place, noticing any smell.
A dry place, where the sun is likely to shine, is probably the worst place.
Where grass and other plants decreases the ventilation over the soil, may
be acceptable places even when hottest summer.

The concentrated morning urine should be let only in corners of the garden,
where nobody except the owner comes close.
It is not rational to travel to the toilet 50 times a day - and hysteria,
exaggeration and aestetics need to be contradicted by rational , exact
science.
The municipal authorites are helpful to urine incontinent patients by
supplying diapers and other equipment.
They should also offer towels with Velcro-tape, that are designed for
bathing as a "kilt"/apron , and which are difficult to find in shops , when
it is not summer and swimming season.
