ASP encryption ?
Fra : Phil

Dato : 12-11-02 08:59

Hello,
A newbie question:
Do you know a way to encrypt ASP code within a page ?
In the case you sell or lend your application to somebody else, just to be
sure that your code will stay untouched...

Thanks
P.G.

If you program a page in asp then people are not able to see the asp code if
they try to view source code from the web.
only the html code will be shown.

you can use the script encoder from Microsoft website [1]. However, be
sure to read the documentation, since the usage of the tool is not
completely trivial.

Also, I would not recommend using it at all. First of all, I would
imagine, that it slows down performance (a bit). Secondly, there are
tools available to decode the encrypted files [2]. This means that
it is impossible to use the tool to hide code from those, who really
wants to look at your code (it took me about 5 minutes to find the URI
listed below). What is all boils down to is that you can only use the tool
to hide your code from real amateurs ... and frankly, who cares if an
amateur takes a peak at your code ?
