The auction is available through the generosity of the dunhill links
championship committee, and is open from August 19th until September 19th
2002 in aid of The St Andrews Pilgrim Foundation to raise funds for
restorations to the historic town's buildings and ancient monuments.
This opportunity is without doubt the ultimate golfer's dream - the winning
bidder will play with the very best in golf, in one of the most prestigious
tournaments, played over three of the finest links courses in the world: The
Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie, together hosts of more than thirty
Open Tournaments, and Kingsbarns - a celebrated new Links course. The
Championship runs over four days.

The format remains unchanged from the 2001 event. The championship will be
played over 72 holes of stroke play with one 18 hole round being played each
day. There will be 168 Professionals and 168 amateurs taking part in the
2002 event.
Played in teams of two, comprising of one professional and one amateur, the
competitors will play each of the three courses in rotation over the first
three days with the final round being played over the Old Course at
St.Andrews. After three rounds the field will be reduced to the Top-60
Professionals and those tieing for 60th place and the leading 20 teams.
