Jeg kan ikke se mine vinduer i CentOS 5.2, under display har jeg kun 640x480
og 800x600 at vælge mellem? .
Hvorfor nu kun dette? .
Starter jeg min Thunderbird op og vil rette i adressebogen kan jeg ikke
komme ned og trykke på OK! .
Hvad gør jeg? .

Den er startet i VGA tilstand. Nok noget med dit grafikkort ikke er

ØV Mogens, det har ikke givet noget! .
Jeg har startet min terminal op og så SU og logget mig ind som ROOT, og så
gået til /etc/X11 og så har jeg startet gedit op og rettet i filen
xorg.conf, og genstartet computeren, og der er ikke sket noget.

Hvis jeg går ind som administrator og vælger display så står den 800x600 og
jeg har mulighed for at vælge 1024x768 og så trykke på OK, så skriver den at
jeg skal logge ud og genstarte X for at bruge ændringerne! .
Hvordan gør jeg dette, er det ikke bare at genstarte computeren? .

Hvis jeg skifter skærmopløsning skal den ikke genstarte X.

Den skifter on-the-fly, og spørger om man vil beholde den nye,
ligesom Windows gør det.

Alt ser rigtig ud også der hvor jeg logger ind med bruger og password det er

Har læst tråden, kan ikke specifikt hjælpe dig - det va rbare hvis der
ringede en klokke.

Tror det vil være en god plan at bestikke en lokal nørd med noget pizza
og så få åndemanet den på plads.

Hvis du stadig er i "har lige installeret"-fasen, så overvej en
geninstallation hvor du eventuelt læser manualen først for at se hvilke
trylleord der skal siges hvornår for at tampe den på plads.

Jov jeg er ny på området, dog har jeg kørt med Fedora 9 og den virkede fint.
Så så jeg at RedHat var kommet med en fri version og den kunne jeg godt
tænke mig at prøve. Men rigtigt jeg har meget at lære endnu. Jeg er Windows
mand men vil meget gerne lære noget om Linux så derfor har jeg en maskine
mere hvor jeg arbejder med Linux.
Jeg er faktisk meget glad for Linux det kører hamrende stabil, men der er jo
altid ting og sager der skal justeres.

Gå i System - Administration - Display
Her vælger du fanen Udstyr
Skærmtype - Her vælger du Monitor 1024x768 (eller hvad du nu ønsker som
max.)
Grafikkort - her checker du at der er valgt det rigtige kort
Så genstarter du X-serveren (Log bruger **Brugernavn** af)
Nu starter X op i 1024x768

Ellers gå i Systen - Indstillinger - og vælg ønskede skærmopløsning - MEN
FØRST EFTER DU HAR GENSTARTET X.

Har installeret CentOS 5 med Gnome - bare for din skyld
