Luk ned for turisme til Thailand
Fra : Carsten Overgaard

Dato : 15-01-07 10:42

lavvande i tegnebogen.

No problem.

Due to new smoking bans in a few months we do not have anything to offer
visitors to this country.

Our most valuable asset - a liberal attitude toward minorities - has been
disbanded.

So please stay away if you feel like it. There is no reason for a
self-imposed torment.

Actually I have made this decision to support the suppressed people of

I noticed that the Danish crown prince was decorated with some kind of
military medal recently. Did he rescue the neighbour's cat?

He's an accomplished officer of a special force unit, similar to Navy Seals
from US, and a trained military pilot.

Aren't there several princes at the Danish Court? In Norway one prince is
married to a drug addict. And a princess is married to an "author" who have
managed to publish one book (which is probably used to set camp fires).

Actually, he's an educated officer in the Air Force, in the Army /and/
in the Navy where he has the rank of Commander. Furthermore, he's a
teacher at the Royal Danish Defence College - the place where Danish
officers are educated.

The Queen and her Prince Consort, Prince Henrik, has two sons. Crown
Prince Frederik with his Crown Princess Mary and their 1-year-old son
Christian {heir to the throne}. The Crown Princess is pregnant again.

The second son, Prince Joachim, lives in Jutland where he has an estate.
He has two sons with his ex-wife Alexandra. Prince Nikolai, 7, and
Prince Felix, 4.

<http://www.kongehuset.dk/english/>

None of the Princes or Princesses can be said to 'live at the Danish
Court'. And none of them has been drug addicts or the like.

But the Prince Consort has published books [poetry] and the Queen has
illustrated books like /The Lord of the Rings/ and has directed a
Bournonville ballet at the Royal Ballet - and much more.

I guess so. Moreover, there is a chance that she is also smoking Prince out
because he isn't a real thing.

Maybe also, but...

Kalamata, Greece, the southernmost city in Europe, is well known for its
international dance festival, its world-famous olives - and for more than a
century - the Karelia Tobacco Company

Kalamata is far from being the southermost city in Europe. All of southern
Andalucia is further south. Not to mention Crete. Or Cyprus!

Well, we now have to define what is a 'town'. I'm scanning the southern
coast of Crete with Google Earth, and there seem to be a few villages there:
such as Mirtos on a latitude of around 34° 55'. Crete definitely belongs to
Europe -- both geographically and politically. Cyprus is a EU member but
geographically it's Asia. A place called Akrotiri there is on 34° 35'.
Undisputedly, however, the southermost town on the European mainland is
Tarifa in Andalucia (36° 00').

The general idea was that travelling from US to Denmark to participate in
excercises with the Naval Special Forces would seem a bit peculiar?
Btw the physical tests you need to pass isn't that difficult for a trained
sportsman
It's the other tests as well as mental capabillities which makes the
difference

succed as a Danish citizen (Which I have).

But the only time when there was some kind of order in Finland was under
Kekkonen and perhaps just after the civil were most of the criminals were
put away. I respect two periods in Finlands history and that its about the
only thing, I would ever go back to Finland for. Remembering the good old
days.

My last visit in Finland was in 2004, where I was in Helsinki for a day to
see the graves of my grantparents. See pictures on:

Denmark is a free country. We travel where we want. I think that we should
leave Thailand alone for a while....

You don't find it tricky to get a permission to do so? Perhaps the Danish
authority doesn't cause much of difficulties in this respect. But what about
the Korean weasels in consular offices issuing visas?

What's even worse: there is a member of the Kim dynasty playing icehockey in
Finland. His name is Kim Hirscho-Vits.

You need an exit visa if you are Korean to visit abroad + an entry visa from
the country you visit.

But I think somehow getting in Korea is a lot easier than getting out.

What's Korean booze like anyway?

This is very poor rationalization indeed. I know you want to say by this
that Danes don't want to travel in North Korea. Knowing that you cannot solo
travel in North Korea, it isn't much of an argument whether want it or not.

Der er vel ingen grund til at svine landet til bare fordi forældrene lader deres søn sejle på en

Jeg håber at indsamlingen giver nok penge til at forældrene også kan få et kursus i ansvarlig

Because the original poster's proposal to boycot Thailand really had nothing
to do with anything that happened more than two years ago (the tsunami) but
rather with this Danish boy being detained in Thailand pending police
investigation of a fatal accident that he may or may not have caused.

If we choose to visit some country, we automatically submit to the laws and
jurisdiction of that country, however 'medieval' or un-Danish we may find
them. For instance, there is no point in complaining about a death sentence
if you're caught with narcotics in Malaysia.

Millions of visitors have no problems with the Thai police or justice, but
Carsten suggests that everybody should boycot the country because of one
single Danish tourist (who may have caused another person's death) having to
spend a few extra weeks down there.

What preposterous arrogance.

It is not arrogance. A large number of people has decide to live in Denmark
and want some special respect and special service for them. Our very old
customs of making jokes and laugh about any things that is a threat to us,
is suddenly wrong.

We have understood the message the surrounding world has sent to us. If
someone want so visit and perhaps even live in Denmark, we should allow them
to live like they seems fit regardless if it is against every aspect of our
culture.

Our police stopped some priest just outside Odense for an ordinary
roadcheck. Almost half the town turned into riot. So is it too much to claim
that we should be above the law in Thailand, when we are forced to respect
primitive cultures and nummerous violations against danish laws in Denmark
to a point where we have to alter our law in a very un-Danish way?

Yes, we should boycut this country. A TV-show in the states "Dr. Phil" has
said the same thing about a holiday island (Aruba - Natalee Holloway) just
because a very profound police investigation on the island did not give an
answer to what happened to an american girl. The island has taken this very
serious and they can feel the lack of income.

I even worked for a Danish company, which had to shut down an entire
department because the american embassy gave one of their citizens a new
passport instead of the confiscated one after some embezzlement.

About the death sentence. There is a point of protesting against it. We did
so succesfully when a danish student tried to come out of her student loan
by smugling narcotics some years ago. She was not executed and is hiding
somewhere in the states because a danish student loan is so expensive that
none will be able to repay it even if they lived to they become 100 years.
Of course it was not fair that she took the loan. Poor people should know
their place in society but she was a Dane and should be above the law in
undeveloped countries.

When it comes to human aid it is common that our organizations demands
protections like diplomats when we station people in Africa. "SOS
boernebyerne" stopped their activities in a country because the local
government was not prepared to act professional. That was their choice. If
they want to starve just because they have principles, it is their choice.

So boycut Thailand!

That's not the point and certainly not my message 'to Denmark'. Besides, you
are confusing tourism and immigration. But in both cases, whether as a
tourist or an immigrant, you should obey local laws and customs. It's as
easy as that.

And never -- as a Dane, an American, or a Muslim -- should you demand
special treatment because of your 'superior' nationality or faith. If you do
that, I will come and puke on you

Objectively, It DOESN'T look anything like that. There should be no
obscurity on it. It is true that your tagline was there but it has been an
inactive (and unnecessary) part of the text.

That's what the Australian authority and media regularly do when an Ozi has
been caught for trying to smuggle drugs: appeals, appeals and appeals.
Throughout South East Asia the capital punishment is an option when drug
cases go to courts of law.

I bet its more safe to travel alone in North Korea than in certain
parts of New York, Paris or London.

I think you know that Norwegians in general have the habit of taking
all kinds of drugs, be it for enhancing party performance or sport
performance.

The chinese woman was very lucky. First off all they did not know about the
rules of trafic on the sea. Second of all they properly were talking so they
did not see where they were going.

Her incredibly luck was that they hit a person which they could blackmail.
Easy money was what they were after. The protection the boy should have been
given (Replacement passport and a quick unnoticed exit from the country) was
not in place.

It would not be the first time a person was willing to get personal injury
so they could claim some money. People has thrown themselves under a car
just to get access to insurrancemoney before. It is bad luck when they die,
but that kind of a way of living do impose some risk.

Then there is the inssurance issue. Anything but riding baby carriage is
defined as extreme sport these days, so there was no insurrance coverage.
That message should be published around the world. Perhaps then people would
not be so eager to hurt themselves in order to go for the fast money.

The family was blackmailed and unjustly treated in court. Thailand is only
an option for a visit if you are looking for underaged sex. That specific
kind of unethical entertainment they have plenty of and that seems to be the
answer for the future income, when they don't treat their customers in a
proper manner.
