check_virus, AVP og Linux
Fra : Leif Neland

Jeg gider ikke oversætte dette, jeg har skrevet i en anden NG; I forstår det
forhåbentlig.

I' ve installed check_virus (http://www.decros.cz/~reho/check_virus/) with
AVP on FreeBSD, and it works like a charm

Then I compiled and installed it on linux.

Normal, uninfected mails get delivered.

But when I send an eicar-testvirus, the message gets rejected as it
should, i.e. the sender gets a message from mailer-daemon, which tells the
mail contains a virus.

But the sender also gets an empty message from mailer-daemon; the only
thing in the mail is "From MAILER-DAEMON Fri May 25 16:01:23"

There are two messages in the queue; the original infected message, and
the errormesage from Mailer-daemon.

When I send the errormessage with sendmail -qSMAILER-DAEMON, it gets
delivered.

But when I try to send the original message with sendmail
-qRreciver@some.net, I get

reciever@some.net... Viruses were detected
reciever@some.net... Data format error
Segmentation fault

Then the sender again gets the errormessage and the empty message.
This repeats itself for each queue run.

Sendmail is 8.11.3
Os is Debian 2.2
Kernel is 2.2.14

I'd really like to get this working, because avpkeeper accepts all spam
before it scans, then tries to reject it afterwards, but as a lot of spam
is unreturnable, my queue gets clogged.

Where do I start looking for the problem?

Leif

Hvis jeg sætter SendMimeErrors=False, så dør den ikke.

Hva' så?
