 | | Hello! Umm there is a festival in Austin, Texas which is a little over an
hour away from where I live and bands play there from all over the world.
Last year Mew, Superheroes and a few other Danish bands came. The tickets
are $300 sniff but I was wondering if any of you knew if any Danish bands
are coming this year and which ones? If you know anything please tell me,
 thanks!

hehe nope I live in Texas. :) Why did you think Canada? I never mentioned it
 hmm ah well.

Yeah I know it's very expensive. But over 1000 bands play for five days
 during spring break.

 > c) I haven't a clue what Danish bands are going to Texas.

It's ok. :) Well so far from what I've read in the paper Kashmir, Speaker
Bite Me, Bjorn Svin and Wyona are the Danish bands coming so far. But the
official listing is in February. And I'm not really interested in any of
those bands. Well ok I've only heard Kashmir. Tv2's new album is called
Amerika they should come here!! :o/ But yeah if anyone hears of any Danish
bands coming to America please tell me. :)

I don't know. Maybe it's because that guy in the language group is from Canada.
I just had that impression, anyhow, that you were Canadian, but now I know
 better.

Allright, I just hadn't heard of it before. Sounds amazing, though.

I like Kashmir, and they've been very popular here since their last album.
You could definately check them out.

Uhh, me too. I'll try to get around to it. I'll have to translate a recipe, though,
and that seems pretty hard to do. But I'll try, though. I guess it's not likely that
one could find a website of international cooking or something?

Well, their latest album (99-2000?) was very popular, especially the song
"Mom in love, Daddy in Space" (was that the title, folks?), hmm someone with
a better memory could probably do better here...

Nonono it's ok :) I forgot to put J:oK at the end of my sentence. It will
just be more work for myself (as well as too much work for you), but thanks

            Hi Michelle,
I have been at the South by Southwest three times. This year Denmarks among
others is represented by Kashmir, It's actually one of the absolutely best
rock-bands we have. So if you have the opportunity you MUST check them out.
You can read and hear som samples at their (english) homepage on the adress:
www.sonymusic.dk/kashmir Besides Kashmir is Denmark represented by Speaker Bite Me, Bjorn Svin og
Wynona. From the rest of the Scandinavia I can draw your attention to Big
Bang (Norway), Henning Kvittness (Norge), Silver Bullit (Sweden) og Louise
 Hoffsten (Sweden).
I really liked to attend the many showcases at the SXSW. The official ones
but also just going up and down 6th Street to hear all the bands in the
small venues. I have not been there for some years now. I think the last
time was i 1995 or 1996 when the Danish Band Hotel Hunger was plying over
there. The Roskilde Festival used to be officially represented. They are
still there picking out some bands, but not officially with a stand and all
 that.
This year I seriouly considered to go there again, but I did'nt have the
 time. But maybe next year.
If you go there it could be very interesting to hear what you experienced
among those hundreds of bands playing there.
In wich town in good old Texas are you living?
 Greetings from

Haha I never knew I'd be talking to someone about 6th street in here! Wow!
Yes it's great a lot of strange people too. When I saw Shane MacGowan in
concert earlier this year in Austin, he never showed up until an and hour
and a half later cuz he was on 6th street drunk out of his mind. And when he
came on stage??? HAHA he couldn't even stand, ok I changed the subject
 sorry.
I have not been there for some years now. I think the last

I've never heard of them. Did you come here because they were playing or you
really like the festival? That's a big trip.

I've never been, I was in Austin at that time last year but didn't go to the
 festival.

I would love it so much so I hope I can go.
 > In wich town in good old Texas are you living?
I'm living in a city called San Antonio. Have you heard of it?? We have the
Riverwalk haha and The Alamo, Sea World, Fiesta Texas, San Antonio
Spurs....some of the prisoners that escaped were from San Antonio I think.
(I believe this was on the news in Denmark for some odd reason). Anyways
it's a boring city. How did you like Texas? And what did you think of the
food? You were probably frying over here. :o/

Oh yeah, I know it from basketball. Now, the Alamo, I've heard that name, but
I have no idea what it is...

I believe it was. Well, you never know with Danish news broadcasters -
yesterday, the main story for 10 out of 30 mins (cirka) was that we had snow.
Snow! In Scandinavia!? Now, that's a story.

There was a battle fought at the Alamo and one of the men that was there was
Davy Crocket. Remember the Alamo? hehe

It would certainly make the news if that happened over here.
Oh! I heard the Kashmir song. Ack I still can't get into that band, maybe if
I hear it on repeat it will help. :)

Okay okay Uffe sounds nice. Yeah it is off-topic and I probably shouldn't
even reply to this now but oh well. I heard some of those Danish bands that
should be playing at SXSW. I didn't like any of them except the one
Electronic, they sounded good. I heard that Public Image Limited was getting
together for SXSW? I'm definitely going if that happens and David Byrn (sp?)
 is suppose to be there.
