Det hender at noen undres over hvor lenge det er til neste oppdatering
av TMG kommer ut.
Her er siste nytt om spørsmålet, sakset fra et innlegg på
soc.genealogy.computing fra Bob Velke, som lager TMG:

>What's the ETA on the release of TMG V.5?
Please don't press me for an estimate. I said casually in the
newsletter at the end of January that I thought that we were about a
month away - and we've had one unexpected frustration after another
since then. I can tell you that nobody has ever worked harder to get
a new product out the door and there is nothing that our developers,
beta testers, and families want more than to get to the end of this
long road. We are locked in our offices and are working off
high-octane foods <g>.
>we're waiting patiently Bob
Some people are not so patient and I can't blame them. It has been a
long wait. But The Master Genealogist v5 has been re-written from the
ground up (some features many times <g>) including all of the features
which have given v4 the reputation of still being the most powerful
family history product on the market, including witnessed events,
roles, timelines, user-defined accents, unlimited flags, source
templates, sentence variables, research log, multi-lingual output,
etc. Version 5 also includes all of the new features introduced a few
months ago in Family Tree SuperTools, including multiple data sets in
the same project, new wall charting features, powerful new filters,
web searching, multi-media slideshows, the new Project Explorer, focus
groups, user-defined screen layouts, etc. To TMG5 we've also added
innovative new features like name and place _styles_, name variations
linked to specific events, user-defined box styles (ie. frames), and
more. And aside from the brand new interface, we've added a bunch of
new features for those who found TMG4 hard to use, including a
Beginners data entry mode, quick tips, cue cards, item tips, lots of
right-click shortcut menus, and more.
It has been a long haul, a complicated testing process, and an
exhausting ordeal for all of us. TMG5 will revolutionize family
history software and there's nothing that we want more than to get it
in your hands! If you'll subscribe to our newsletter
(
www.whollygenes.com/newsletter.htm), then I really hope to have an
announcement before too much longer.
So thank you. I know that it is hard to be patient. We do appreciate
it.
-Bob
