2. Registrer filen Wups2.dll. Det kan du gøre ved at benytte følgende fremgangsmåde:a. Skriv følgende kommando ved kommandoprompten, og tryk derefter på ENTER:
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll
Bemærk! Hvis computeren kører Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, skal du skrive følgende kommando og derefter trykke på ENTER:
regsvr32 %windir%\syswow64\wups2.dll
b. Klik på OK i alle bekræftelsesmeddelelser, som bliver vist.

3. Start tjenesten Automatiske opdateringer. Det gør du ved at skrive følgende kommando ud for kommandoprompten og trykke på ENTER:
net start wuauserv
4. Luk kommandopromptvinduet. Det gør du ved at skrive exit, og derefter trykke på ENTER.
